Through A Female Lens

“Through a Female Lens”, a 3-day photography workshop offered by iRole, in collaboration with Amina Mohamed, founder & CEO of Cameras for Girls, and the Palestinian-Canadian, award-winning photojournalist and Filmmaker, Annie Sakkab.

Project Goals:

Our workshop is designed to empower women and girls to turn their passion for photography into a profitable business. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive training course that teaches the art of storytelling through photography, as well as exclusive and professional business skills that will take your passion for storytelling to another level, encouraging you to share your story with the world. During the workshop, you will learn how to use a camera and take powerful photos that tell deep stories. You will also acquire new skills and optimize your decision-making. Our mission is to create job opportunities for young women and battle gender inequality, increase young women’s access to the market, and escape poverty. Application for this year’s program is now closed, but we encourage you to consider applying next year. To give you the best chance of being shortlisted, we recommend that you create a portfolio of your work and share it with us. You can create an account with Flickr or Google Photos to host your portfolio, or you can create a website to showcase your photos. Please note that we will not accept portfolios shared through Instagram or Facebook.
